The community of Kitakyusa was opened on 18 May, 2024 in response to the request of Archbishop Paul Ssemogerere of Kampala Archdiocese for the Sisters of Mercy of the Holy Cross to work at St. Francis of Assisi Kitakyusa Health Center III. There are four sisters in this community.
